For lodging near the West Yellowstone Entrance, the Brook Trout Inn is here to help you enjoy your Yellowstone vacation with 8 cabins and mountain homes just 8 miles or less from Yellowstone National Park, plus 2 additional mountain homes just a few miles down scenic Hwy 20, in Island Park, Idaho.

The Brook Trout Inn began in 2000 with our first vacation rental cabin, and now we have a total of 10 vacation rental cabins and mountain homes for you to enjoy as your home away from home and base camp for exploring Yellowstone National Park and the Greater Yellowstone Area.

We love all there is to do in the Yellowstone area, from visiting the park to spectacular fly fishing to rafting trips to excellent hiking, skiing and snowmobiling adventures... just to a name few.

And we’re happy to provide great places to stay so our guests can create fun-filled vacation memories and enjoy all the activities this area has to offer. We might not be fancy with all the latest upgrades, but we focus instead on offering good yet affordable options for families who are here to enjoy Yellowstone and the surrounding area instead of quartz counter tops or Smart TVs. Plus, we live close by, so we're here if you need us. Just give us a call... our number's on the fridge.

There Are Benefits to Staying Outside the Park ...

The town of West Yellowstone, Montana is located at the Yellowstone National Park west entrance and provides everything you need when it comes to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, gas stations and summer and winter activities. Plus, all our West Yellowstone properties are just 8 miles or less from the Park gate. And two of them are only blocks away (while still being in quiet locations outside the main traffic routes).

The town of Island Park, Idaho is an outdoor adventurer’s paradise with a seemingly endless list of outdoor activities all around you, plus plenty of great dining choices too. The two properties we have there are just 12 and 22 miles from Yellowstone's west gate and are affordable options for families and groups on a budget.

It’s our absolute pleasure to serve as your “base camp” for exploring all the incredible adventure opportunities available in this area, not only in Yellowstone but also around Yellowstone.
