Perfect Location!
Every other year, a closer group of friends travel to West Yellowstone for a week-long snowmobile trip. This was the first time we've stayed at the Trails End cabin. The location is perfect, as one of the trailheads is literally right across the street. It is close to local restaurants and shops, and can accommodate large groups.Everything about our stay was wonderful, including being able to park inside the garage during the winter. We will definitely be staying here again in the future!
Excellent, as always
Since 2017, we have hosted a Yellowstone painting retreat out of Trails End Mountain Home and have always found the home clean, comfortable and well run. The owner is always quick to answer and respond to questions, kind and professional. The log furniture is built by the owner and makes the home feel like a mountain cabin. We love it here!
Trails end home
This home was perfect for us. It had plenty of rooms and they were attentive when we text them with questions. A/c would be nice but there were fans and they said they would bring more if needed. Directions were easy to follow and they provided directions to yellowstone gate. There's good restaurants and shopping close. Absolutely one of the best vacations I've ever been on.
Owner Response
Hi Delos,
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! Regarding the a/c, it's rare for any property to have a/c here because we don't really need it. For the two weeks during the summer that it gets warm enough to consider it, we just open the windows during the day and keep a few cracked at night, and let the 40 degree overnight temps do the work.
We look forward to having you with us again soon! Thank you again for your 5 star review.
Bill
Trails End Mountain Home Review
The Trails End Mountain Home was just what we needed for our family reunion. Brook trout inn was easy to deal with and answered all my questions and requests promptly. They even sent suggestions on the best time to get into the park. The property was amazing. There was great spaces to all gettogether and not feel crowded but it was also big enough to spend alone time if needed. It was furnished with everything we needed, including a full size washer and dryer, a great stove, and two refrigerators that really came in handy. I highly recommend this property for large gatherings.
Winter Wonderland and a good time by all!
What a perfect location and destination. Snowmobile heaven and Nordic skiing to die for. Great house to have a small or large gathering in. We cooked and had a warm fire and did some great lounging. Thank you!
Awesome
This was such a great house to stay at. There is so much room. Really enjoyed it. Parking was also great.
No address
Couldn’t find the place for a while. No address of the actual house. Need to add that to the listing.
Owner Response
Hi Chris,
Thank you for the 5 star rating. It's a great house and we're glad you enjoyed it!
We apologize for the issue you had finding the house. As of 07/31/19 all the check in information, including the property address as well as detailed driving directions, has been added to the HomeAway/VRBO Hospitality app and is accessible to all guests 7 days before their arrival. You should have been able to access this information through the app. If you weren't able to access it, another option would have been to call us before you arrived, and we'd have been happy to direct you right to the property.
We're happy to know you enjoyed the property itself. And thank you again for the 5 star rating.
Bill
Nice place to stays with family, its very close to west entrance.
Bill has provided us with necessary information, place is very close to Yellowstone so we could be flexible with your plans. We all loved the place. Again thank you Bill.
Great older home
Location couldn’t be better-Bill was always quick to respond with any questions. We had a wonderful time!
perfect for our group
Our group of 7 had a great time. Easy access to the park. Plenty of space to hang out. Quick walk to groceries and restaurants.
Large home in a great location
Nice, older home in a great location to visit all that Yellowstone and the Tetons have to offer. Many more beds than the listing notes (in the den). Minimal quirks of an older home which were expected and did not impact our stay (short shower faucet in main bath, water temp changes, etc).
Overall, wonderful large home. Would definitely stay there again.
Owner Response
Don't know why there would be any water temp changes, there is 186 gallons of hot water
Large and comfortable home
Perfect for our 12 people. Enjoyed our stay.
Family reunion
Great home for a 3 generation family reunion. Location is ideal for easy access to Yellowstone and is walking distance to a great park for the kids and the town shops and restaurants. Thank you Bill for sharing your home with us.
Large comfy house in a perfect location.
This was the perfect place for our family to stay during our Yellowstone vacation. We could cross the street and walk in the woods yet we were still close to restaurants and shopping. The house was warm and inviting with plenty of room for a large group. The kitchen was nice. The laundry room was well appointed. There was more than enough hot water capacity for a house that large. Plenty of towels. The beds were very comfortable. We look forward to returning someday.
Family Snowmobile Weekend
Great place right across from groomed snowmobiling trails. Plenty of parking for all our trucks and trailers. Having the garage for staging and a place to leave all the winter clothing is perfect.
Spacious rooms to spread out never felt crowded, except when we tended to gather in the kitchen. We had 18 of us and there was plenty of room. This place worked perfect for us two years in a row.
Owner Response
Thank you it was good to see you again. To future reviewers the garage is heated
Very nice
Good fesility and very clean
Roomy, people easy to work with, great location.
The cabin was perfect for a family reunion. We had a great time. The house had everything we needed, it was a little dirty.
Owner Response
The only thing that they thought was dirty was the
BBQ so I bought them a new one
Good Location. Spacious and nice host
The property is very near to the west entrance of Yellowstone Park which is a good starting point to visit the Park.
The house is clean and spacious to accommodate 14 of us. Bathrooms are clean.
We had a good time and highly appreciate the Host for being so responsive. ( especially when we make a request for a better grill)
Great House!
Group of 10 stayed here for a snowmobiling trip in the West Yellowstone area. The house was amazing, clean, and we had more than enough room. The owner is very accommodating and communication was great. We will definitely be back next year!
Amazing!
This was a perfect place to stay. The owner was accommodating and so friendly. Beds were comfy with plenty of room to spread out the family. Kitchen table was wonderful to gather around in the evenings.
Clean and comfy
Our family of 12 stayed here. It was very nice. I thought it was pretty clean when we checked in. They also had a pack-n-play and high chair for a little one. The large, main table was great for family dinners. I enjoyed having 2 fridges as well. There was plenty of room for us. The only downside is the size of the family room. Only 10 people can sit in there on the couches and one chair. Other than that, I liked it.
Great place for group or family gathering
My friends and I stayed at the Trails End home for a couple days. There were 7 of us guys up for a weekend of snowmobiling in the West Yellowstone area. We all had our own room. (no one could hear any snoring - which is very important with a group of guys) The beds were comfortable The place was clean and had plenty of room for us and also for large groups or families to hang out. You could do your own cooking with well stocked kitchen or go a few blocks to restaurants in area. The home is right next to the snowmobile trail so you can get right to it.
The owner is a great guy. He has this and a couple other properties if interested. I would highly recommend this home
Great house for large groups
Pro: Clean. Very comfortable furniture and beds. Two large refrigerators. Enough dishes and glasses in kitchen for an entire army. Dinner table space for everyone. Friendly owner available in case of problems. Modern electronics. Good quality equipment (washer/dryer and so forth).
Con: Some of the bedroom windows had broken crank-open/close mechanisms. One of the seven bedrooms has no windows (sleep well, nevertheless). Recommend that you bring your own kitchen knife if you want a sharp one.
Trailsend was exceptional for our group of 8!
Trailsend was perfect for us! The owner was quick to respond to my questions prior to our arrival and followed up with us to ensure a good visit. While this vacation home could easily fit a party double our size - we enjoyed each having our own room/space. There were three bathrooms (and showers) so we could easily rotate and there was no waiting time. The kitchen was fully stocked. We were two blocks away from the major eateries and shops - but on the end was perfect for less traffic/noise. This location was absolutely perfect.
Garrett Family
Trails End was exactly what we were looking for. We had 12 family members stay here. We all had plenty of room with 6 bedrooms. Best value for our money instead of staying in a hotel.
Great place to get away!
It was a great place to stay, near town and a nice little pub called the Slippery Otter. We had a problem with the gas fireplace and the TV programing but the manager came quickly to repair them. This house is close to town but still far enough away to be very quiet at night. I would recommend this house to anyone, by the way it would be nice to have another bathroom downstairs in the big bedroom off the kitchen. Great time and great place! 4.5 stars
Best value in West Yellowstone
We had a wonderful time at the Trails End home. It is located in a quiet side street near the city park. It is easy to find. The list and pictures accurately reflected the place. It is clean when we arrived. It is very spacious with lots of bedrooms. The table was able to seat all ten of us. There is free cable TV and wireless internet. It has a good kitchen and we were delighted it has an outdoor gas grill. It has only two full baths which was a little bit of an issue in the mornings. It is an easy two block walk to the center of town. It is about 2 mile from the entrance to Yellowstone park. We had a problem with the baseboard heat. The owner came over and took care of it. He was very helpful and easy to deal with. One of us left a cellphone behind and he was kind enough to send it back. We would definitely stay there again.
Love the house!
We really loved the house and it made working so much nicer. I'm so grateful to have stayed there. Thank you.
