The cabin was a great place to get away. Only down side was that the driveway wasn’t plowed and the front porch was covered in about three inches of ice. With in 2 minutes of getting there my wife slipped and broke a rib in her back. Kind of put a downer on the trip. I called the property owner and he got the driveway plowed within 30 minutes. We had to chip the ice off the front walkway. Other than that it was really nice and we had a ball. I would go again in a heartbeat.
The house is roomy and well equipped, with a premium cable TV package, speedy wifi, gas BBQ, and fire pit. The host is great to work with. The house was built in the mid seventies, and most of the finishes appear to be original, except the flooring, which looked relatively new, and it was in very good shape. The beds were okay - plenty of wear on them - for a few nights. The baseboard heat worked remarkably well; it heated rooms very quickly. The kitchen was well equipped - electric griddle, slow cooker, pressure cooker, etc. Also, lots of dishes and silverware. My only complaint is that the large frying pan was warped from someone overheating it. And, it is no longer nonstick. It needs to be replaced. The furniture is in good shape and there was plenty of seating for our group of seven. Bill answered all my questions quickly and was great to work with. My only suggestions would be that they get a new frying pan and provide shampoo. I would definitely recommend the house and the host.
Thank you for your review I will replace the pans with new
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! House comfortably accommodated our group of 10 adults. Great location for visiting the National Park. We did almost all our grocery shopping in the town of West Yellowstone. Washing machine was not working properly, but owner was very responsive to message about the problem. Large, though older, grill on the deck - we grilled out twice. Would definitely stay her again!
This was a great rental for 2 families, a total of 8 people (with children ranging in age from 6-15). Kitchen was great and well stocked. Beds were comfortable and the cool nights made it easy to maintain a good temperature . Location is wonderful. Easy to get to Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons. Great little grocery store in the neighborhood, nice playground, and great neighborhood for a morning run. Would definitely recommend.
This property comfortably fit the 13 of us. Parking for 3 cars on the drive way. Spacious garage. Nice and close to a variety of sights to see. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and all the towels we could use. Having a washer and dryer to use were an added bonus. Some of the windows couldn't be opened because either the screens were bent or they didn't have a screen but it was still ok. Floors were squeaky but that is part of the charm of this beautiful home. The internet worked great during our stay and there was plenty of hot water for all our showers!
We had a great time and loved the property. There are only a few little things that need attention. The high chair had mold on it, the lock on bathroom door in the hallway doesn't lock and a few ripped or missing screens. The house was a perfect size and we most definitely will be back. See you next time.
My family of 7 adults and a toddler were very pleased with our stay in this home. Comfortable beds, spacious family room and kitchen, fire pit, and multiple bathrooms made this the perfect place for us. It’s an easy 20 minute drive to West Yellowstone. The grocery store located 1/2 mile away carried everything we needed and was very reasonably priced. Restaurants in the same location were very good! We had no need to contact the manager, as everything was exactly as indicated through the description and e-mail communications. I would highly recommend this rental!
We had 12 people on this vacation and the number of bedrooms was perfect plus having three bathrooms. Eating area worked well and the livingroom was a nice size for games. I enjoyed sitting on the patio and having the golf course to look at. It was close enough to West Yellowstone , the west entrance and very quiet in the neighborhood.
We really enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a wedding and decided to not stay at the Ponds Lodge because we wanted to be in a quieter location. There were 8 adults, a toddler, and a dog total. It was quiet and relaxing place to be in between all the wedding chaos. The rooms were generous size and nobody felt like they got a bad deal. The dining table was big enough for us all to sit at to play games. Our toddler enjoyed some of the toys that were already there. If we come back to Island Park, we would definitely stay here again.
Had a great time, the house is super cozy and easy to book. I was unsure of what was expected of me as a renter, for example should I or should I not do laundry etc. The only frustration was parking, however, the neighbors were very accommodating and allowed us to park in their drive way. Over all I recommend this VRBO and would love to stay there again!
There is parking for 3 cars or trucks. They had snowmobile trailers also that would not fit in the driveway
Overall the place is awesome and our stay was great. Hopefully will be allow to stay there again in the future. Communications were straight forward, directions to place was great, and access instructions were complete and accurate. Kitchen were filled, pots/pans were more than adequate, backyard grill was offered for use(though we didn't try it), backyard patio area was great, plenty of towels, bedrooms were good. And we didn't have to carry our trash with us, just had to put it in their bin in garage. Some minor details that might be an issue to some people, but definitely not for us: 1. Water heater- on our first night the hot water stop working after 4 ppl took showers. After waiting about 30 mins, it worked again. So we figured probably not big enough tank for house and just had to spread our shower time. Didn't have a problem after that. 2. Some of the door locks need to be change. They work, just need to be use properly. 3. There was a bed that was squeaky and a couple of the mattress has what looks like blood spot. We didn't see them until we remove the bed sheets. Probably could have been cleaned with bleach. 4. This was the first the 1st property that require us to wash all bed sheets, pillow covers, and towels, prior to checking out. Really just had to wash/dry towel and start 1st load of bed sheets. I thought this was part of cleaning fee. It didn't bother us, just make sure if you are planning to leave at certain time prepare an extra hour to do this chore. Other than those minor issues, the house itself was great. Plenty of seating area. Dining room was particularly spacious enough for us(10ppl).
I had recently purchased this home and was not aware of any off the problems. I have sense tripled the hot water out put. changed out several beds and mattress pads. The policy of doing laundry was posted by the cleaning service I hired with out my knowledge it is not my policy. All I ask is to start a load of towels in the washing machine. If anyone has any questions please contact me. Bill Youngwirth owner
