MOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THis lodge was great. The moment we pulled up me and my 5 kids got to watch a mamma moose and her baby meander around the house. I've never seen a moose before it was beautiful. Also, we were only 8 miles from Yellowstone. We were there in like 10 minutes. So awesome! Would stay again for sure.
Perfect for our big family.
Perfect place for our family vacation. Super spacious, well equiped kitchen, really close to Yellowstone. Loved having a table big enough to accomodate everyone - we never get that when we book big family vacations.
Everything we needed
My multigenerational family stayed here for a trip to Yellowstone. Everything was as expected. We did contact the owner one time when we couldn’t locate the laundry detergent and he promptly brought some up- we then found an entire jug under a sink. It was nice to have all the beds we needed as well as space and easy access to West Yellowstone. I was worried about the distance to the park but it wasn’t a concern at all. I liked the quiet area versus being in downtown with the crowds.
Beautiful property
Great big space on beautiful property.
Beautiful Home
I loved this little piece of paradise! I was sad we only had one night there. It was spacious and absolutely perfect for our extended family’s trip to Yellowstone. Would definitely book again.
Great Place
Great place, quiet and close to activities. Enjoyed all the amenities of the house. Didn't need to bring anything except our luggage and food. Lots of room for everyone.
Well stocked and spacious
We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and open dinning spaces in the cabin. The large dinning table was wonderful for family games and food. The location of the property was perfect!
Great location
The inside was beautiful and spacious. Great location close to West Yellowstone entrance.
Great place with lots of room
Short drive to Yellowstone entrance. Check in process was easy. Wonderful place to unwind after a long day at the park.
A great escape for Yellowstone
We were so pleased with our stay here- it was close to west Yellowstone yet not right in the hustle and bustle of the crowds. After being in the busy parks all day it was wonderful to head out this way with a more secluded and relaxed feel! Plenty of space for everyone!
Lazy Acres
Very good location . Just 10 min from Yellowstone national Park. House was clean and well stocked .
Yellowstone
This cabin is great. We had a party of 7 and had plenty of room. The grandkids loved the mega bedroom. Location was great. Bill and Danielle are fantastic and fast to respond to any questions. This property will be at the top of our list for any future visits. The grand kids are already wanting to go back.
Would definitely stay here again!
This was a perfect place for my family to all stay together for our trip to Yellowstone. It was a perfect location. The cabin was the perfect size to fit all of us and it had everything we needed. We were very happy with our stay here.
Neat lodge perfect for large groups
The lodge was very nice and clean. Has lots of beds for larger groups. Everything was functioning as it should. Overall, great place to stay!
A very good time was had by all
It was a great facility and super location. Enjoyable place. Thank you so much.!
Great Location and Home
10-15 minutes to West Yellowstone entrance. House was plenty big with seating for 12 at the dining room table (perfect for large groups) and LOTS of beds. Had a great time!
Lovely place
Great location for Yellowstone, my family enjoys this stays.
Cozy and convenient
This cabin was perfect for our group of 9. Plenty of bed and bathroom space, and a large common area. The location is super convenient to the west entrance of Yellowstone. The cabin itself was clean and cozy and had everything we needed including plenty of kitchen equipment and extra bathroom towels. Overall enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.
Great location
Great location, plenty of space, kitchen area had lots of pots/pans/dishes for our group that enjoyed cooking, and large table with enough chairs that we all could sit together for dinner/games!
Great place to stay for large groups
We enjoyed our stay here. Everything you would need is here, beautiful house, pictures are accurate, and accommodating host who did responded to our questions right away.
Best Location!
This place was very close to Yellowstone entrance and its about 10 minutes away from West Yellowstone downtown lots of restaurants, markets, shopping, etc. You REALLY cant go wrong with this place! Perfect for our 4 day family vacation! House was clean, and roomy there was nothing wrong for us! Thank you!!! :)
Loved our stay
We loved our stay at the Bull Elk Lodge. It was the perfect property for our family. Our children made full use of the "loft" room and became very proficient Foosball players! The cabin is centrally located and we were able to explore the area quite easily. The website gave us so many ideas on what to do and where to go besides the main park.
So quiet and peaceful
This trip was great. Went up at a time that wasn't as popular at Yellowstone, but it was wonderful and quiet. The property manager was fantastic and quick to respond for minor issues. Would love to go again and highly recommend Bill and his properties.
Beautiful Location
Very comfortable and nice stay. Thank you very much we had a great time!!!

Great Location
Close enough to town but nice trails behind the cabin. Can’t wait to return!
Amazing Vacation
We had 9 people staying at this cabin and it was great. We all had plenty of room to spread out and plenty of items in the kitchen to make meals each night. Everything lived up to our expectations and Bill/Danielle were very quick to respond to our questions. Also the location was very easy to access West Yellowstone and the park itself. We had a great time and will visit again!
Labor Day Weekend
Our first family road trip to Yellowstone & we were worried we wouldn't find a place to stay that gave us the spacious kitchen & many bedrooms to fit all the kids running around along with all the adults trying to relax after a day of sightseeing. It was a weekend well spent
Lazy Acres Stay
Was really perfect for our plans. At check-in, we noticed that the kitchen lights were not working. I notified Bill and the next day he replaced flourescent bulbs and all was well. The cabin has lots of books and several VHS tapes. Yeah, I know, VHS, but it was fun to watch some of the older movies with the grandchildren. All in all, it was a wonderful trip.
Ideal accommodations for family and friends
My wife and I wanted to return again to Yellowstone National Park to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We wanted a place to stay that could accommodate us as well as our adult children and granddaughter without feeling cramped. We also wanted a large kitchen an dining area to prepare our own meals as desired. Bull Elk Lodge Mountain Home satisfied all of our needs. It is perfect for large families. I will definitely stay here again when we return for our 50th wedding anniversary.
Work Trip
This is a very nice house and excellent for groups.
great stay
We loved our stay. great location....would stay there again
The perfect location!
We based here for our Yellowstone vacation and it could not have been more convenient. Check in and check out were a breeze and the home base supplied everything we needed, with room to spare!
Serene with All the Amenities
Bill really went out of his way to stay in communication during COVID. The cabin had all the amenities and was a perfect retreat for our large family. This is the perfect place to stay for a large family or blended family retreat. You can't go wrong. A+++
Yellowstone - 2 Families
We came here with two families. Four adults and Kids ages 8-16. Great location right near west entrance of park. House had enough living space for all of us. Kids enjoyed back bedroom space for their teenager time. Large dining room table great for monopoly, puzzles and family dinners. Owner lives nearby so was easy and quick when we thought the grill had no gas. He came over right away. We had a great time and felt comfortable in this rustic cabin home.
What a time
This Place was amazing. Had a family gathering there and was perfect. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, a huge table for eating together, close to Yellowstone, everything we could need was there. Hope to go there again.
Great Place
What a great place to stay with a large group. We had 8 guys snowmobiling and all had our own bed with room to spare. Found great snow for late season and everything you need is in the house. Thanks again Bill and we will be back!
Wonderful place, we will be back!
We stayed here for a snowmobiling trip and it was perfect. It was easy to find and in a great neighborhood. You can hit the trails directly from the house. No need to load up sleds and unload just to go riding. We had 3 different families, 6 adults and 3 children and there was room for more! We were not crowded once. The kitchen has amazing seating for everyone. The house had everything you might think you need, and more. Bill was great as well! Very friendly and was more than happy to help us with any questions. Our family had such a great trip and this place made it happen for us! We will be back!
The Best Time!
We had a great time at Bill’s cabin! Everything was clean, comfortable and just perfect for us. Bill even helped us get out rental snowmobiles delivered!!!
Great Christmas At Bull Elk Lodge
Our family of 11 stay at Bull Elk during the Christmas Holidays. All adults had their own bedroom and each grandchild had it's own bed. Very nice sleeping setup away fro the living room and kitchen. House was very well supplied. Bill was an excellent host and willing to spend as much time with his visitors to answer any questions as needed. Great place to stay and snowmobile right from the house. We got up went snowmobiling and when you got tired, just return and let the other have fun. Bill can hook you up with contacts for rental. Not sure how Bill did it but, provided snow on Christmas morning.
The place was clean and spacious! It was minutes from Yellowstone National Park and stores and restaurants in West Yellowstone. It was very convenient for our visit to the park and had plenty of room for kids.
We wanted a comfortable spot for the family to have a "home base" to enjoy Yellowstone from. This worked great. Not fancy from the outside (doesn't need to be) but is very well maintained, clean and spacious on the inside. It's a great format for housing a pretty large group. Large dining table and gathering area. Separate sleeping/fun area for kids. We would happily stay here again.
We had 12 family members ranging in age from 6 to 70. We were all comfortable and enjoyed the space. One person was using a walker and had a bit of difficulty with the stairs, narrow halls and doors but we managed it. All in all a nice place with lots of room to spread out.
Big house, we liked the large room with multiple beds, which was a great place where to put all the kids in our group. Nice kitchen and a large dining table. Quick ride to West Yellowstone.
We had a great Yellowstone vacation. We were close to the west entrance to Yellowstone. House is lovely on inside. Everything worked and the house was clean when we arrived. Check in and check out was easy.
House was adequate but nothing fancy
Owner Response
Thank you for your 4 star review! We’re happy to know to enjoyed the property overall. Yes, it’s true that this wonderful house may not be something you see on an HGTV rehab show with all sorts of fancy finishes, but it does offer everything a group or family needs to enjoy a memorable vacation together. And our repeat guests who come back to this property every year love the amount of space it provides everyone. We’ve thought about adding some of the fancy finishes you may have been looking for, but these types of surface touches would then require us to raise our rates, and we prefer, instead, to provide our guests with accommodations that are nice yet still affordable, rather than “fancy” and the big price tag that goes with it. (Especially since most people who come to this area spend the majority of their time outside in nature, enjoying the Park and the many other outdoor activities they come to our beautiful part of the world for.) Thank you, again, for staying with us and letting us know you enjoyed your stay overall. Bill
The cabin was clean and roomy. The outside was a little off putting pulling up but theres been a lot of rain and its early summer. Once we got in we were very pleased. Our 3 night stay was very comfortable for all 14 of us. Plenty of room and the kitchen had plenty of stuff to use for cooking and eating. Definitely would stay again!
Location was great; short ride to town and the park. House was bit outdated but clean.
Owner Response
Thank you for your 5 star review! It’s so nice to know you enjoyed your stay with us. We have completely renovated the kitchen (as shown in the photos), and we know there are few minor things that could use a little updating, but this house is such a favorite with our guests that we haven’t had the opportunity to do so. And since everything is in really good condition, we’ve opted to keep this popular mountain home open in order to accommodate our guests rather than make it unavailable to them. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and again for your 5 star review! Bill
We stayed in the Bull Elk home for a couple days with friends and relatives for a great weekend. The place was awesome. Clean and roomy with plenty of room for us and 3 other couples. It has a nice kitchen and dining area for large group. We were able to get on our snowmobiles and jump on the Two Top trail right from the house. If you want to go to town you are only about 10 minutes away. I would highly recommend this house to others.
We had 4 adults and 8 kids ages 6-16 for five days in this cabin and it was perfect. The bunk room was the highlight for the kids-- they loved the foosball table and jacuzzi tub. The kitchen was the best supplied I've ever seen for a rental cabin-- everything we needed to cook for and serve 12 people. The cabin was super clean as well. The location is perfect-- it is literally 10 minutes from the park. Thanks for a great stay-- we will definitely book again!
Excellent rental very near to Yellowstone National Park. Very easy drive to park and town. Impeccably clean. Lots of space to spread out- fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of bathrooms! Loved staying here- owner is very friendly and responsive. Thought it looked good in this listing, then got there and found it to be even nicer than promised! Will definitely book again.
Our daughter's wedding and reception was held at the Union Pacific Dining Lodge, at the Yellowstone Historic Center in West Yellowstone. We were looking for lodging near-by but wanted to stay outside the town of West Yellowstone itself. Bull Elk Lodge is located six miles from West Yellowstone - a very easy drive. We had family and friends from PA, NJ, NC, WA, OR, ID, KS, HI and England coming for the event. We felt fortunate to find Bull Elk Lodge for my husband and I, our grown children, their spouses, my sister and our 86 year old mom. There were beds for all - the older folks took the private bedrooms (one master, two queen rooms) with the young people sharing the dormitory style room. Bill was accommodating - seemed happy to let us use the house as we needed to for the wedding and was quickly responsive to the few things we contacted him about during our stay. Here's a list of some of the things that were outstanding: Lots of space to spread out - we never felt crowded even with 14 people in the house. Two fireplaces, Flat screen TV's and very good Wifi Beautiful furnishings including hand-crafted log beds Fantastic oak built in's, overhead lighting and huge bathroom with jacuzzi in dormitory room. Large dining table to gather around - easily seating 12 - 14 people. Everything needed to prepare and serve meals with high-end appliances in the well-equipped kitchen Full sized washer & dryer w/laundry detergent & dryer sheets Over-all cleanliness and attention to detail. Privacy, quiet peacefulness afforded by how house is situated on the lot along with strategic landscaping Our stay at Bull Elk Lodge contributed to to making our daughter's Yellowstone wedding a truly wonderful experience. Thank you, Bill!
We had 11 Adults and 6 kids and we all fit great (some of the kids slept on the couches). There was plenty of space and lots of fun things to do. It was close to the park and town. Super easy to find. Very clean. Nice kitchen and bathrooms. I love the wood everywhere. It smelled good too. There were puzzles and movies that we could use and a really nice fridge to keep all our food. I plan to stay here again.
We stayed at The Bull Elk Lodge for 5 days and had an absolutely wonderful time! It is well equipped with everything you might need and is perfect for a family vacation! It is roomy, clean, and easy to find. The description of the house is accurate and actually is even better when you see it in person. The kitchen has new stainless steel appliances and the washer /dryer appears to be new. We were there in mid-May so the nights were still chilly outside, but the heat and fireplace made it cozy. Having three full bathrooms was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the foosball table, cable and wireless internet. It was nice to be so close to Yellowstone National Park- easy for day trips. The back bedroom was really cool with many beds (great for large family with kids) and the bathroom was terrific! We hope to return someday!
I, along with 9 other guys, rented the Bull Elk Lodge for a fly fishing trip to the Yellowstone area - let me tell you the lodge nor the location did not dissappoint!! Everything that Bill has listed in the description and in the pictures is 100% spot on!! He is a great guy and really helpful when asked - if there was anything we needed he was willing to help or tell us what we needed to do. The Lodge was very clean and well maintained the kitchen is unbelieveable!!! and easily sat all of us at one time. At no time did any of us feel crowded in the entire home. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to others. If you want to be out of town but within 5 minutes of being in the town of West Yellowstone this is the place for you no doubt!!! There are tons of things to do in town and on top of that head into YNP itself. Great places to eat as well, Bullwinkle's etc. we primarily ate at the lodge though. If you are into fishing you can be in the Madison Valley in 15 to 20 minutes hitting the blue ribbon streams many only dream of. We plan on coming back and doing this again!!!
